Transport Research Arena (TRA) is the most important transport R&I event in Europe focussing on research, technology and innovation to address the transport challenges of the 21st century. The scope of TRA includes the transport system and its components with all means and modes of transport including infrastructure and production. TRA is an arena which aims to bring together all European stakeholders – policy-makers, researchers, experts, operators and industry – from all areas of transport and transport-related activities. It covers all modes of transport as well as the systemic parts of transport. In this respect, TRA not only aims at presenting the latest achievements of European and wider research, but, first and foremost, at being the place where stakeholders meet to discuss the policy drivers as well as the scientific and technological developments that will shape transport in the decades to come.

The European Commission supports and promotes the TRA 2018 edition to be held in Vienna, Austria, from 16 to 19 April 2018, under the heading “A digital Era for Transport - Solutions for society, economy and environment".

The TRA 2018 programme includes a range of different session formats that will offer ample opportunity to share information on recent findings and to discuss challenges and opportunities.
